Privacy Policy

KundliDost ("the app", "we") is an astrology app for Android. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how it is protected, and the controls you have — in line with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP) and Google Play requirements.

What we collect

• Account data: your name, email address, and a securely hashed password (or your Google account identifier if you sign in with Google). Phone number and a profile photo (used on your profile and on shareable greeting cards) are optional.
• Birth details: date of birth, time of birth (optional), and place of birth. You provide these explicitly, with consent, to generate your kundli.
• Content you create: questions you ask the AI astrologer and the answers, kept so your conversation continues across sessions.
• Usage & diagnostics: anonymised app events (e.g. "signup completed") and crash reports, used only to improve the app.

Why we collect it

• Birth details are used only to compute your Vedic birth chart and personalise horoscopes and chat answers.
• Your email is used for account verification (OTP codes) and account recovery.
• We do not sell your personal data, show third-party ads, or share your data with anyone except the service providers below.

AI processing

Horoscopes and chat answers are generated by an AI language-model provider. A summary of your chart (planet positions, dasha) and your question are sent to the provider to produce the answer. Your name beyond first name, email, and exact birth details are not required for this and are minimised. AI output is guidance for reflection — never professional, medical, legal, or financial advice.

Where your data lives

• Data is stored in MongoDB Atlas (encrypted in transit and at rest).
• Passwords are stored only as bcrypt hashes; verification codes only as hashes with a 10-minute expiry.
• Payments are processed by Razorpay; we never see or store your card/UPI details.

Deleting your data

You can delete your account and all personal data at any time, inside the app: Profile → Delete my account. This permanently removes your account, birth details, kundli, conversations, and usage counters. Payment ledger records required for accounting are retained without personal profile data. You can also request deletion by email.

Children

KundliDost is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we will notify you in the app before the change applies.
